Gnome End Light Railway (GELR) is a 3 ft Narrow Gauge light railway. It has a double track main line with two steam-up bays and storage sidings for rolling stock.
The whole layout is built to 15mm scale with 45mm gauge track and will be fully scenic to exhibition standard.
The layout will have two short sections of 32mm and G3 to represent 18inch and 4ft 8½inch (standard gauge) transfer sidings.
The GELR can cater for live steam, electric and battery powered locomotives.

The overall size of the layout is 28ft by 17ft; and the height is 36in.
Both lines pass over an 18ft viaduct to the layout's main island platform / station Ferndene Road. By the way, the red engine above belongs to Paul!
On the up-side of the station there is a point that leads off to the goods shed, MPD, and the layout's main turntable. On the down-side of the station another point leads off to the goods yard and transfer sidings. Leaving the station we pass the steam-up bays to our left, and the down sidings to our right. These cater for our electric stock. This brings us to the long straight at the back of the layout, and we then pull into the halt Cooper Road, opposite the storage sidings.

The layout is permantley erected and available to 15mm members 24/7.
